MARLENA RODRIGUEZ - episode two

AJ Lubecker

Wow, they let us do another episode. Kind of can't believe it. Marlena Rodriguez joins us alive in the wunmor studio.

This is Marlena's biography-
Marlena Rodriguez has written for Silicon Valley, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Close Enough, Fairfax, and the upcoming Clone High from Lord Miller. She made her TV debut with her stand up special on HBO Max, "About Last Night." Marlena became one of the first Latinas to do stand up on a major TV network with her set on NBC's A Little Late with Lily Singh. Watch Marlena's latest special from EPIX, "Unprotected Sets."

Dear YOUR NAME HERE,
I met Marlena in Chicago over a decade ago. She performed a few times on the first stand up show I was running called C4 at the playground theater. And, I was a regular at her open mic at the Osmium Cafe in Chicago. I don’t think either of these places exist anymore but, if you like geography, they were off the Belmont stop. They ruled.

When I first moved out to LA - Marlena and I produced a show called A Night Wasted, with our pal Joel Boyd. We ran that show at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood. Which also ruled. Then the show moved to the Moving Arts Theater in Silver Lake, which also ruled.

Marlena rules.

Love,
AJ
